Senior C/C++ Engineer (m/f/d) — Robotics & Embedded Systems
You develop high-performance software for robotic systems, sensors and industrial controls. You work at the interface between hardware and software and bring deep understanding of real-time requirements.
Your responsibilities
- Development of performant C++ applications for robotics and embedded platforms
- Design of real-time controls, drivers and hardware abstraction layers
- Integration of sensors, actuators and bus systems (CAN, Modbus, EtherCAT)
- Performance profiling, memory optimisation and multithreading
- Technical architecture and close cooperation with hardware engineers
- Build and maintain automated test pipelines for embedded targets
Your profile
- University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or comparable qualification
- At least 5 years of experience in modern C++ development (C++17/20)
- Excellent German and English skills
- Deep knowledge of multithreading, concurrency and lock-free data structures
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS, Linux with RT patch) and embedded targets
- Confident with CMake, GCC/Clang, GDB and cross-compilation
- Experience with profiling tools (Valgrind, perf, gprof) and embedded debugging
- Knowledge of driver development, bus systems or sensor fusion
- Experience with ROS 2, Gazebo or other robotics frameworks
- Python for test automation and tooling
- Structured, clean approach with focus on stability and maintainability
Nice to have
- MATLAB/Simulink for modelling and controller design
- Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262, IEC 61508)
