Operating system and drivers. As with any server. Graphics drivers are additionally relevant here and occasionally sensitive – a driver change can affect the model software.
Model server software. Develops quickly, new versions regularly bring performance gains. Not every version is stable.
The model itself. New versions appear multiple times per year.
Why Model Changes Require Effort
A new model behaves differently: instructions have different effects, output formats differ, and the tendency to invent answers changes.
Without a collection of test cases with known correct answers, it is impossible to determine whether the new model is better or worse. One notices this only during operation.

Never Without a Rollback Option
